The Naples Woman's Club has a rich history.  Since its founding in 1932, its members activities have impacted the Naples' community.  And, in turn, the members have been enriched by the experiences.

Over the past year, the NWC members have carried on the legacy of its founders by continuing to focus on the Club's mission to enhance the community through philanthropic activities and volunteer service. The past year has been filled with examples of that dedication, including:

--The annual Empowering Women's luncheon focused on celebrating the power of women.  At this event, the second annual $1,000 Dora Valentine educational scholarship was awarded to a single mother in need who is pursuing further education.
 
-- The NWC Educational Committee made "dreams come true" for 17 scholarship winners from high schools in Collier County.  More than $24,000 was awarded this year.

-- NWC's Home Life Department donated over 2,200 volunteer hours and over $13,000 in goods this past club year.  The members brought dignity and joy to the lives of the sick and the elderly, every month, by providing hand-sewn lap robes, walker bags, wheel chair bags, and covers for morphine bags.  These dedicated volunteers visit nursing homes, monthly, bringing refreshments, entertainment and the gift of a smile to the residents.

-- The annual President's Community Improvement Contest Project's holiday "Angel Tree" benefited a local family in need.  NWC members partnered with the community and made a difference in the life of a family by providing Christmas gifts.

-- The NWC Art Department held an Art Contest for students from the local high schools and awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

-- The Ways and Means Committee is the champion for fundraising, as well as "fun" raising for its members.  This year's successful events included a "Luck of the Draw" Raffle, a Holiday Fest Silent Auction and Card Party, The "American Bandstand" Dinner/Dance, and a members-only shopping spree at Chico's that donated a percentage of its sales from the event to the NWC.     

-- The Conservation Committee members focus on preserving Naples' natural resources, semiannually supporting beach clean up days.  In addition, group events and tours stimulate awareness of conserving our resources.

-- The International Affairs Committee focuses on the world around us.  This year it educated the members on what life is like in Cuba, as well as providing predictions on future U.S. policy charges.

-- The Sew Much Comfort Committee meets monthly and creates adaptive clothing for our wounded military service members who are recovering form their injuries in U.S. military hospitals.
